Bluedrop Medical’s diabetic foot ulcer management technology has been selected as one of the most innovative technologies in the field of wound care by winning two prestigious Journal of Wound Care awards 2017.

Up to 25% of diabetics will develop a foot ulcer at some point in their life. These ulcers can take months to heal and if not treated early can result in amputation and may even be life threatening. Diabetic foot ulcers lead to up to 86,000 per year in the USA.

The Journal of Wound Care Awards seek to recognise the hard work conducted in all fields of wound care, to benchmark standards within wound management and to highlight the great contribution that medical product manufacturers, nurses, clinicians, scientists, researchers and academics make to the development of wound care research and practice.

At the awards ceremony in London on the 3rd March, Bluedrop Medical won the top award in both the “Innovation” and “Wound Assessment and Diagnostics” categories. Winners were chosen by a prominent panel of expert judges that is representative of the diversity of disciplines and organisations that make up the wound care sector.
